Inge's Read

I suspect this is about work primarily, although maybe not wholly. You feel chained to events, but in fact you’re not in reality. You could walk away anytime you like – but you are choosing not to - somthing is holding you back. And this is preventing you from doing something that you really want to do and care about. Something new and different.

In the past you feel that you have always applied yourself well, although not always wholeheartedly – more a case of willpower keeping you going. However, that’s in the past – now you just feel trapped. The best possible outcome you can hope for is some revenge at some point in the future, probably intellectual – for example, taking all your IP away with you which would make life difficult for your successor. However, that would be a pyrrhic victory and wouldn’t actually give you any pleasure – even though you think it might.

Your current situation is because of choices you made in the past – you perhaps have had the opportunity to make a change and you didn’t take it – stability, especially steady income, won. Nonetheless there is an opportunity to start afresh if you so wish, but it doesn’t come without sacrifice. However, your response to your situation at the moment can be a bit emotional and almost childish at times. You perhaps need to temper this a bit.

You hope that tomorrow is going to be a sunnier day and yet fear that it won’t. Indeed – as it stands – you can only expect disappointment and disillusionment.

Generally you have a lot of major arcana card here, suggesting that the situation is largely out of your control, although you can control your attitude and how you respond to it – if you wish to.

You asked for two supplementary cards, so I drew these using the numbers you gave me. 5 of Coins and 9 of Swords. I do feel a great deal of unhappiness here, and you still have to work through these problems. A lot of active worrying here, not sleeping. It looks like you may have to endure a period of hardship, possibly materially, before the good times come back.

I need to do another spread for you – this isn’t the whole story – it feels like it’s almost ‘in limbo’. If that makes sense.
